Our Story
Zoran Kovacevic is a comic artist, illustrator, designer and games creator. For eight years, he worked on the comic strip “Tom & Jerry,” and later as an illustrator for the magazine “Sesame Street” for the German publishers Condor Verlag and Inter Part for the European market. After his comic phase, he teamed up with a colleague to create dozens of character series in their joint graphic studio. These characters were featured on various products, from paper goods to school supplies and toys, for companies in Europe and America.
Currently, Zoran draws greeting cards and designs souvenirs for a small, independent family business he runs with his daughters, Aleksandra and Marija. He has always been a passionate board game player. In August 2023, after finishing their daily work, Zoran and his daughters, Alex and Maya, began brainstorming ideas for several games, a process that lasted weeks. They eventually settled on a card game themed around food. They had a great idea and a set of drawn characters, but it was raw material that needed more work on the mechanics, new character sketches, and precise rules.
Their deck grew larger day by day. Soon, they transitioned from sketches and drawings to a full deck and began testing the game. However, the deck kept expanding as they added more action cards and food cards. By January 2024, they had a finished deck of 75 cards and definitive rules.
It was almost a year of an exceptionally enjoyable period and bonding. Every other evening, friends, relatives, and neighbors would come over to play a few rounds of Vortex. It was incredibly fun and helpful for thoroughly testing the game and ironing out any flaws. Now, in September, they are starting the campaign for the game, and they are already thinking about a board game involving food where they would use the Fun Food characters again.
